The Fool’s Travels — where even a walk to the kitchen counts as an adventure

Why Walking to the Kitchen Is Also Travel

You’ve heard the Fool’s stories of long walks, mountain climbs, and faraway places. But today, the Fool took one of his greatest journeys yet… to the kitchen.

Not just any journey — a hungry one.

Because hunger doesn’t want something wrapped in plastic for months, or noodles that surrender in two minutes of boiling water.
No, no, no. Hunger wanted more.

And thus, this journey of knives and fire began.

Step 1: The Quest for a Recipe

Like any true adventurer, the Fool needed a map.
So he…

  • picked up his phone,

  • tapped the little microphone icon,

  • and declared: “Give me a fantastic recipe that can be made in 5 minutes!”

And lo, the internet delivered. His stomach grumbled in approval.
The quest had begun.

Step 2: The Hunt for Ingredients

Now, here’s the tricky part. The Fool opened his cupboards and…
70% of the ingredients were missing.

Did that stop him? Of course not.
Instead, he prepared for a mini-journey to the grocery store (perhaps a tale for another blog).

Step 3: The Cooking – The Battle of Flames

The fire was lit.
Two mighty warriors — chicken breasts — were laid upon the battlefield (also known as the pan).
Onions were chopped and tossed in, hissing as they met the heat.

Slowly, the chicken turned from pink to golden. That was the Fool’s cue.

He unveiled his secret weapon: The Fool’s Sauce

The Fool’s Sauce Recipe

  • 3 parts dark soy sauce

  • 3 parts ketchup

  • 1 part lemon juice

  • 2 parts sugar

He poured it in. The battlefield sizzled. For 25 minutes, the flavours clashed, merged, and transformed.

Finally, the Fool claimed victory. A meal was born — ready to be served on a bed of rice or straight from the pan (because plates are optional on great journeys).

Step 4: The Eating – The Reward

The Fool sat down, took the first bite, and smiled.
Not because it was perfect. Not because it was fast.

But because it was his.

A Fool’s Conclusion

Cooking, like travel, isn’t about how far you go or how perfect the path is.
It’s about starting the journey.

If you never take that first step — whether to the mountains or to the kitchen — you’ll never discover new things, never reach new places, never taste the joy of travel.

So yes, even walking to the kitchen is travel.
Especially when you walk out full.

This was Chapter 2 of The Fool’s Travels — where even a walk to the kitchen counts as an adventure.

Who Are You?

Who Are You? If someone asks me, “Who are you?”, what should my answer be? Hmm... I am not who I think I am. I am not who you think I...
